Finding hope, inner peace through Mantras

Hello everyone😊 🙂 and welcome back to Feeling Good with Sofy 🥰!

This article will be about mantras and the power of this tool, we are going to see how we can use this precious instrument…

First of all, WHAT IS A MANTRA?

For me, a mantra can be a word, a short sentence or a longer one, which gives you strength, peace, hope within you. It’s something that you repeate to yourself, also out loud, to calm your mind from daily stress, negativity (for ex.).

The power of mantras:

Mantras connected to mindfulness

I was officially introduced to mantras by my mindfulness coach during my modeling career (with my first agency) when things didn’t go as planned which means I wasn’t getting any jobs, no castings so my mind was always worried, always thinking about the future. I was of course disappointed, that is not so strange…During our mindfulness sessions she gave me also some tips of mantras such as I am my own temple which is a sign also to take good care of yourself❤️❤️.

I am exactly where I need to be: I love this powerful sentence (mantra) as it reminds me to be grounded when I especially start to feel on edge. Focusing my attention on mindfulness mantras are also key for my wellbeing

Besides from mindfulness, mantras are very useful for me to improve my self-esteem. For far too long I’ve been too strict upon myself… so now, truly focusing also on repeating self-loving mantras everyday such as I am a beautiful person, I am worthy of love, help me to be more comfortable in my own skin, feel better.

In a few words: mantras help me also boosting my self-esteem, self confidence✨.

I would recommend you to keep a journal

The end of last year I started to write down at least three mantras a day, a real challenge I have to admit 😅, but it is an healthy challenge 🙂 !

As with journaling (where I write down my daily feelings, what I have achieved, small, big, gratitude..) I have a smaller journal dedicated to MANTRAS!

Another advice: write down, for ex. also your favourite mantras on post-it notes so you can then stick them wherever you want such as in your bedroom, kitchen…It will become easier to remember them!

Meditation and mantras

For about a year ago I started slowly to meditate consistetly, and through practice I’ve noticed how good meditation affects my body, mind and soul❤️❤️.

Some months ago I started meditating daily with Boho Beautiful meditation, a lovely digital meditation platform, (on YouTube) founded by a beautiful couple from Canada!

I love spending 10-20 minutes in the morning meditating with them or before going to bed. Especially these two parts of the day are really important for me to focus on my well-being❤️.

Here are some mantras which I love to repeate to myself 😊:

  • Healing is a journey, not a destination!
  • I let go of all that no longer serves me.
  • I am guided towards acceptance, healing and balance.
  • Hope is within me❤️.
  • Mindfulness helps me to feel better.

A reminder:

It takes time and practice

And remember, as with everything :), It’s a constant exercise, at least for me :). It takes time, dedication to focus on repeating, writing down mantras, being present with yourself❤️. Do not give up❤️. I am learning everyday to be present with my own self, especially in the hardest of moments❤️.

Love and lightness,

Sofia Lena 🥰
