Anxious since childhood

As I have already said in my very first anxiety article, I’ve been anxious since the early stages of my childhood, I cried easily, also for no specific reason. When I began going to school things began to be really hard, especially when I discovered that I had strong difficulties in math and in other areas of the academic learning. Also being very shy, sensible didn’t make things easier.

In high-school my mental health got worse

I felt already not good enough at school, moreover my body started to send me signals that something was wrong (somatic symptoms) for ex. I began at the age of 15 to go to the toilet way too many times in a day, at high-school (6 hours there), (when people at school also started to say that I smelled like bug). I couldn’t breathe correctly (shortness of breath). I was constantly having anxiety attacks untill I had mental breakdowns. (Unfortunately I had other bad periods, also after finishing school…I am still recovering… ❤️❤️).

At the age 16, I started to take antidepressants, they helped fortunately although I was experiencing lots of fatigue along the way, yes I was also going to therapy but it was hard to find peace within, inner balance with toxic people around me at school, trying many times to be good enough in many academic subjects. (In one of my next upcoming articles I will talk about insecurity, not feeling good enough ❤️…)

Here are some tips 😊:

(You can find more help tools in my very first anxiety article❤️: https://www.indiansavage.com/ways-to-manage-anxiety/

  • Lavender: for me, in general, the scent of it, is so calming! I love (for ex.) to inhale lavender essential oil before going to bed, just two drops are necessary to feel the nice, soothing effect! I also adore to have scented candles in my bedroom among them, I have one with thyme and lavender! 🙂
  • No social media scrolling: if you have an anxiety attack (ex.),I would really recommend you not to watch social media in that moment. I mean, there is nothing bad to watch, being inspired, working with it, (I do it as a job!🥰) but in that moment it can become too overwhelming seeing others do things…etc, focus on yourself instead❤️ (this is my advise 😉).
  • Body scan: if I happen to have (lots of) fatigue, I’ll do a guided body scan, in this way I feel more mindful, more connected with myself❤️ (It’s the same for meditations!). I use for ex. the app Insight Timer, you can find there also a lot of good, relaxing music. I love listening to piano music (as an ex.!).
  • Support from professionals, loved ones: remember that there is help, please if you are struggling do not hesitate to ask for help.
Reminder: asking for help is never a sign of failure, but a sign of strength ❤️❤️

See you!

I send you all, my love and lightness ❤️✨
