Hi everyone 👋🏻😊 🙂 in this article I will write about some of the villages in the Cotswolds!
The Cotswolds
Cotswold villages are charming habitations located within the Cotswold Hills, a region in the southern England, famous for its picturesque landscapes and historic architecture. These villages are characterized by their honey-colored stone buildings, idyllic rural surroundings.
There are many small, charming villages in this area! Chipping Campden, Bibury, Castle Combe, are some of the villages that we visited during our England trip this July 🙂 !
- Chipping Campden
One of the first Cotswold villages that we visited was Chipping Campden!
Moreover, my family and I spent two nights there!😍 We took small but lovely promenades in the village! There are small shops, bakeries, cafés while walking on the streets!
At the centre of chipping Campden, there is The Market Hall, built in 1627, once served as a bustling marketplace. It is surrounded by beautiful, historic honey-coloured buildings!
St. James’ Church is another highlight in this village! This Church began its construction around the 12th Century. It’s known as one of the finest ‘wool’ churches in england. In medieval times, Chipping Campden was a thriving center of the wool industry. The church served as a place of worship for the local wool merchants and workers. The term “Wool Church” was probably born from the fact that many of the church’s benefactors and supporters were involved in the wool industry. Their generosity contributed to the church’s construction and maintenance. (I forgot to take a photo!)
For all afternoon tea lovers 🙂 🥰
We had a delicious afternoon tea at Bantam Tea Rooms, where we enjoyed their delicious scones , in their beautiful courtyard, so calming and relaxing!

- Bibury
This Cotswold village has also captured my interest! So picturesque and beautiful!
We wandered through the streets, admiring the architecture, the cottages. There were quite many people (especially at the entrance of the village or at the shop, nearby) but we still managed to enjoy 😊 and soak up the atmosphere!
The river Coln flows, gently, through the heart of Bibury, creating a peaceful, serene atmosphere! My family and I enjoyed walking along the riverbank, admiring the reflections of the trees in the water!

- Castle Combe
This magical, stunning village is another must-see! Even when it rains 🙂 !
Castle Combe is often called ‘the prettiest village in England’ with its idyllic, fairy-tale stone cottages, babbling brook and ancient river bridge ! At the center of the village you can find the charming medieval Market Cross monument, which is immediately east of St. Andrews (medieval) Church! The church’s construction began in the 13th Century, and it was then, later restored in the 19th Century due to structural concerns.

No new houses have been here built since the 1600s, and the village is so well preserved. I mean… so wow! No wonder this village has been used as a location for film recording!
Location for many films
Castle Combe has been the backdrop for numerous films including War Horse (directed by Steven Spielberg), Stardust 😍✨!

In general, I really loved, visiting all these charming villages!
If you haven’t been there yet, I would really recommend you to go there and visit! 🙂 😍
See you 🙂
