In this wellness article, I write about growing mentally and emotionally as an individual, with challenges along the way. I will share with you also some of my personal life stories.

The meaning of being a work in progress
Being a work in progress is for me a beautiful way of telling myself: “Hey, I am here on this earth, I have already done many steps through my healing journey, there is still work to be done, but I know that I am progressing! 🙂 “
So, there is constantly room for improvement, self-discovery and growth 🙂 !
Each time I fall, I get more perseverant
Over the last period, I feel more often, that after having encountered a difficult situation, (ex.) I grow more resilient!
This October I went to Paris. One of these days, I was feeling particularly under the weather for some reasons and suddenly I found myself crying at a cafè. I am grateful for my mom❤️❤️for helping me, but then, I found slowly inner strength, I took deep breaths and we began promenading, along a bridge, where I spotted (without having planned it) the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral.
I found almost immediately a good connection between me and the Cathedral. Notre-Dame was really damaged in 2019 due to a devastating fire and it was incredible to see its progress even if, (when I was there) it’s still under reconstruction! Just like this landmark, I see myself as a work in progress. I’ve been through some really hard times and noticing now, that I deal better with my negative emotions, by turning them into something beautiful, is for me, also, personal growth 🙂


A few weeks ago, I had quite many anxiety attacks, sometimes I was triggered by something, other times not. I remember, in particular, that in one of my therapy sessions, my therapist noticed that I was very sad, I confirmed her that and I was not in the mood to move forward, but when she told me: “you will not quit, I presume, you have told me yourself that you are a work in progress :)” As soon as she mentioned it, a light bulb clicked in my head and I told her: “Yes, that’s true… :)”
Acknowledge and celebrate yourself 🙂
My therapist❤️❤️ makes me see all the small, bigger steps that I have taken through time, when I especially find it difficult to acknowledge.
If you also find it hard (from time to time) to recognize your wins, I would suggest you to have someone, who help you, along your journey 😊!
An important reminder:
“Do not just see how much work you still have to accomplish (for me it creats lots of anxiety), it’s super important to also look back on how far you have already come, to give yourself a big hug and cheer these achievements, smaller or bigger, it doesn’t matter! :)”
Daily affirmations
Writing down, everyday affirmations, quotes which remind me of my personal evolution (baby steps, also, remember that :)💪🏻) help me to stay motivated to keep going on!
Here are some examples:
- I am going in the right direction!
- I am a work in progress 🙂
- I am in a period of personal growth.
- I accept what I am going through as it guides me to become a stronger version of myself! 🙂
