Trigger warning: this blog post may contain content which you might find hard to read, especially if you struggle with your own inner worth, mental health. However, this article could also be helpful, offering also some motivational tips along the way!❤️❤️So, it’s totally up to you, and to no one else! 🙂
The importance of Inner Worth
Inner worth is truly important because it helps you to find strength and resilience in moments of challenge and uncertainty. It empowers you to take risks and embrace inner growth. Moreover, when you know your true value, you feel freer to express yourself, to pursue your passions and make choices aligned with your own value. You are less likely to please others, or the need for external approval.
Inner worth leads to a more genuine and satisfying life.
Inner Worth, a journey…
For the many of us, the journey to inner confidence, self-acceptance is not that easy, in fact it’s a real journey. Often we are told, especially by adults (a parent, a teacher…) (some more than others), that we should put extra effort in doing something, like an activity, a task, or that we could get a higher grade if we just study more, or that we should loose some pounds just to look more slim and fit.
It is also possible that you could get too insecure and scared, due to your own character, for the way you are❤️for (childhood) traumas, and difficult past events. You push yourself too hard without anyone exactly telling you what you should achieve or perceive because you may be too sensible, you may think you are expected to be in a certain way.
So, external, negative happenings, low self-esteem, one’s character, all these factors could contribute to this sense of not feeling good enough, of not feeling capable of doing things…
I am one of many who has been struggling really hard and still struggles with my inner worth❤️.
My Story❤️
Struggling since a young age…
Since a very young age, I’ve been very hard upon myself, especially when it came to school. Since elementary school I struggled a lot to keep up with academic subjects, also because I have specific learning disorders. Several times, during my school career, I got quite low grades, just enough to pass the tests and that made me feel pretty awful and it made me cry a lot.
I felt a sort of a failure, as if I was not doing enough, that I had to study more and more, always trying to impress others (teachers, professors, ex-friends, classmates…), and that many times brought me to a sense of fatigue, deep sadness and lots of tears.
I remember writing letters to my mom, at just seven years old, telling her how stupid, unworthy I was.
My parents❤️❤️ fortunately, have always supported me and for that I am forever grateful for❤️. I started seeing from a young age a therapist who could also help me to feel better, regain confidence, and support me along the way.
Comparing myself a lot…
I compared myself a lot to my other classmates and also to other people like family members, ex friends.
At school, I compared how the others were better than me, but it became even worse when I finished school. I started really to loose myself when I finished my modeling career and to point out to my parents, therapist❤️ how I was a burden to them, unlike other people I know.
I link my article about comparison is the thiev of joy, because it coexists with the theme which I am discussing about: https://feelinggoodwithsofy.wordpress.com/2024/11/11/comparison-is-the-thiev-of-joy/
Slowly, I am finding back strength, inner harmony and I try to remind myself each day, that healing takes time, I am on my unique journey :)❤️

Some helpful tips and tools along the way…
- Psychotherapy: the first advice I would give you is to take help from professionals, someone who can guide you and give you professional counsel on how to better overcome fears, obstacles…
- Journaling: I would recommend you then to keep a journal, so you can write down your personal problems, achievements and if you want also discuss it with someone you trust, like your therapist or a family member…
- Mantras: I find it also useful and therapeutic to write down and repeate to myself, daily, motivational mantras, such as I am capable of achieving anything I want, regardless of my struggles, insecurities! I have written an article about the power of mantras, here is the link: https://feelinggoodwithsofy.wordpress.com/2024/08/05/finding-hope-inner-peace-through-mantras/
- Self-Love: begin step by step to practice daily self-love, which is another very important practice for gaining better self-confidence, acceptance. I know, it can be really hard at the beginning, but through time and practice you can slowly begin to love and embrace the person who is standing in front of the mirror, you❤️By the way, I have written two article, at the moment, about Self-Love❤️, first link: https://www.indiansavage.com/self-love-a-very-important-journey/ Second link: https://feelinggoodwithsofy.wordpress.com/2024/08/22/self-love-%e2%9d%a4%ef%b8%8f/
Much love and light❤️✨
