Mindfulness, an increasingly popular practice
Over time, the practice of mindfulness is gaining more and more popularity and that is no wonder! Increasingly, people are becoming more stressed out, anxious… due to the pressures of today’s world.
Mindfulness consists in being in the here and now, being present and appreciating what the world has to offer in this moment, without pondering over the past or the future.
Mindfulness can help you cope with mental-health issues like depression and anxiety. Mindfulness is something to cultivate through time, it’s a skill or state, that requires ongoing effort and dedication.
As someone who struggles with mental-health, mindfulness is my anchor. Mindfulness is teaching me daily to regain control after a challenge, or simply it’s allowing me to wind down and take things slower with the right pace.

I have always been anxious and not so tranquil, school and other external factors have made it much harder for me to slow down and find balance in life. When I finished high-school, I began my modeling career and I was still not in a way able to find peace within me, I was always alert if I had to go to castings, shootings, I scrolled a lot on Instagram and got so tressed out when I saw other models doing jobs and I did not.
Taking action…
My mindfulness journey started in the middle of my modeling career with agencies (I stopped a few years ago) with the help of a mindfulness coach. She taught me several important things such as the practice of visualization techniques, acceptance, being grateful for what I have right now.
Moreover, I was introduced to the practice of meditation. It took a while to get into this habit but it was truly worth it. It was and it is still a very powerful tool I use to calm myself down whenever I feel on edge or to find back peace within me❤️ While meditating, I focus on my breath, on some calming, beautiful mantras such as: I trust the timing and unfolding of my life, I live in the light, I am light✨:)
I have tried different kinds of meditations and my absolute favourite ones are from Boho Beautiful, a wellness, lifestyle brand founded by a Canadian couple!
Being present in different ways
While doing a meditation is one of the main ways to be present, there are lots of other ways to be grounded and in the here and now! 🙂
Here are some examples: practising deep breathing exercise, going for a minfdul walk, preparing tea and drinking it, doing your laundry, doing yoga, cooking something, listening to music and so on!
Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I try to do some of the things I have mentioned just before, depending on my mood, energy levels, and I tell myself that my worries are only temporary and I focus my attention on what I can do in this moment to calm myself down❤️
