Instead of Multitasking, Start Single-Tasking :) !

Hi guys 🙂 Welcome back to a new feel good article!😊

In this wellness article, I dive into the concept of single-tasking – a mindful technique designed to help you slow down, tackle tasks more purposefully and significantly reduce stress! ❤️

Pay attention: this blog post discusses also mental-health struggles. If you are currently facing similar challenges, you might find certain parts of this article difficult. However, it also shares motivational insights on how to live a more mindful life. The decision to read on is entirely yours.❤️❤️

What is exactly single-tasking?

Single-tasking means focusing on one activity at the time, fully engaging your mind and body in the present moment.

Single-tasking focuses in fact on mindfulness.

The practice of single-tasking is one of the keys to achieving mental clarity, lowering anxiety, and fully experiencing the present, and eventually leading to enhanced mental-health❤️

Single-tasking over multitasking

Over the years, I have slowly discovered how impactful mindfulness is in my daily life.

I have also learned that taking things one at a time, both when I work and when I relax, is a really good strategy to prevent panic attacks or a stressful life in general.

I remember in the past how overwhelming it could be – and still can be, though fortunately less so now – to consider all the things I had to accomplish or at least attempt, for instance, on a school day.

Already struggling with depression and anxiety, I frequently experienced panic, overly worried I would forget to do some homework or by the intense anxiety of trying to please everyone at school.

I would not say I was disorganized but with the panic of doing as much as I could, I also multitasked and that was not such a good idea. I would feel even more disoriented and not proud of my achievements.

Mindfulness teaches us to not judge ouselves and take things with a slower pace

Self-compassion is another key of mindfulness. Learning to be kinder towards yourself and to accept that doing too many things at the time could be too overwhelming, is crucial to start living a more mindful life.

I have learned through time to structure my days, especially my work days, easing the emotional weight on my shoulder.

So for me single-tasking has been a game changer! 🙂

Here is an example…

When I have many things to do in a day, I write a list of the things I want to accomplish in a day, always with a reminder to also write down relaxing activities like meditation or other basic important things like eating and drinking.

For instance, when I eat breakfast, I only do that; I do not begin creating a video in the meantime. When I write an article, I write the article, when I meditate, I focus on the practice and try as much as possible to be present.

If I’m too tired to finish a project I began earlier in the day, or I didn’t have time to write an article for other reasons, I postpone it for the next upcoming days. Your mental well-being and health come first; it’s truly important to remember that.

Creating a mindful routine could be challenging at the beginning, especially if you are not used to it. But with time, perseverance and consistency you can include more and more mindfulness into your daily life.

As always, I write what I think it’s best for me for living a healthier life, as I also think many others relate to this concept, but if you prefer multitasking, and feel good about it, go for it!

Much Love and Light❤️✨
