Navigating Times of Uncertainty

Hey everyone! 😊

We all have periods of uncertainty in our lives, and sometimes it’s really frustrating to move on, take the first step because we are too scared of what will happen next. So, in this article, I’ll dive into the concept of navigating life when things are uncertain.

Trigger warning: If you are currently going through a rough patch in your life, please know that this post might be difficult to read. that said, i hope it can also be a source of inspiration for you to find back the strength to keep going, no matter what. The decision to keep reading is entirely yours and no one else’s!❤️❤️

Uncertainty is not your enemy

Before we can learn to navigate, there is first a very important truth to be told: uncertainty is not your enemy, nor is it your ticket to give up.

No matter how hard we try to avoid it, uncertainty will always be a part of life. And even if you don’t believe me right now, the unknown can bring the biggest, most important life lessons. It encourages us to practice courage, like not being so afraid to take small steps forward even if you don’t know the final outcome!

Just begin…

In fact the ultimate goal is to trust more in yourself, and not be so frightened to try, even if it takes a million attempts. The more you practice taking action, the stronger you get.

I know, there will be many obstacles, you might face that inner voice trying to tell you to stop fighting and give up—that’s one of the cruelest tricks the unknown path plays on us.

I tell you this: when it happens, take a deep breath in, or as many as you want 😉, and let it be your inner fuel to say: “Hey, I know this is hard, but you’re not going to ruin my life!”

Fall, but don’t give up!

Falling is another thing we can’t avoid—just like uncertainty itself. The only true way to avoid a misstep is not trying at all, and that’s not living. So, please, don’t let yourself down because you have missteps along the way. Instead, let those setbacks be the strength you need to learn, grow, and shine. Yes, shine! Because when you try along the way, you fall and you get back up again and again, you leave a beautiful mark on your own journey! 🙂

Sharing a bit of my story…❤️

Some raw facts…

Like everyone, I have my own insecurities and struggles. I’ve never been so afraid of uncertainty since I finished modeling with agencies. As a shy, highly-sensitive person, with lots of anxiety and a history of depression (I’m still fighting depression, anxiety and uncertainty, but I have more tools this time❤️), I really thought my life was over.

My dream of becoming a professional model, coupled with my high anxiety, eventually demanded too much effort. I felt completely lost and didn’t know what else to do. And even though I had guidance (my therapist, family❤️), I felt so defeated and useless that I truly wanted to give up.

I was so overwhelmed that I actually got hospitalized for my anxiety of living. Even after receiving professional help and leaving the clinic I was terrified.

From hopelessness to Action

It was in those dark moments that I began to find hope with mindfulness, and by taking things day by day. Slowly, and not overnight, I started to discover new passions which I still adore: writing, blogging, and creating digital content. It took a lot of work along the way, but these small actions were my path forward.❤️

Focusing on What You Can Control

As much as we may wish otherwise, we can’t control over everything and one of these things is the future. No matter how scary that is, the power we do have lies in taking one tiny step at the time.

We also have complete control on other, more immediate things: for example, how we choose to prepare ourselves emotionally for a daunting event. We may not know how the situation will evolve, but we can walk into it knowing we showed up and tried our best at least :)❤️

Finding Strength in the Fog

We have learned that we can not control the future, and uncertainty will always be along for a ride. Let it stay in the passenger seat, not the driver’s seat.😊 Whenever the fog rolls in, and makes you question your life’s decision, remember to focus on the moment. Trust that you have the incredible strength to move forward, slowly but surely, with grace and courage.

Remember:

One breath at a time, one decision at a time, one step at a time. There is strength even in uncertain, most critical times. ✨

Much Love and Light ❤️✨
