Self-Esteem: Your Ticket to Your Wellbeing!❤️(part 2)

Hey guys! 😊

It’s time to revisit a very important topic: self-esteem. Why does it matter so much? Because it’s one of the core elements of wellness for living a healthier, happier and a more satisfying life. The more self-esteem we have, the more we feel confident in our own skin. Unfortunately, more and more people are losing their confidence for various reasons. If you’re one of them, then you’re not alone—I’m right there in the fight with you. ❤️

Trigger Warning: If you’re going through a tough time with your mental health, this article might be difficult to read. However, most of this blog is focused on providing motivational insights and tips. The decision to keep reading is entirely yours! ❤️ ❤️

Before we continue, I’m linking my first article on this topic, Self-Esteem, The Power In You, below in case you haven’t read it yet! https://feelinggoodwithsofy.com/2025/11/02/self-esteem-the-power-in-you%e2%9d%a4%ef%b8%8f/

Understanding the Drain: Why Confidence Fades

First of all, self-confidence can start to fade at a young age. If you don’t receive the right support you need, the struggle can be prolonged for many years. This has been—and still is— the case for me to this day.

Secondly, there could be several factors causing the person to lose their self-esteem bit by bit. The environments we are in and the people we spend time with—such as school and classmates, the workplace and colleagues, or even at home with family—can have a massive impact on how we perceive ourselves.

Diving Deepert Into This Theme…
  • Dealing with Belittling: When someone doesn’t respect you for who you are, it truly hurts—especially when it becomes a constant habit for the people around you. For example, if you are speaking in English and someone tells you that you can’t, that is a form of belittling. It’s not right. Please seek support if this is happening to you.
  • Being Bullied: Bullying is, as a matter of fact, one of the main factors why teenagers, young adults, and even older adults lose confidence in themselves. I know this all too well, as I was bullied in school, too. If you’re currently being bullied or have been in the past, don’t hesitate to seek help. You should not have to go through this alone.
  • The “Not Good Enough” Trap: Another common problem is the feeling of not being “good enough.” You might feel you should be doing more to earn a better result on a language test, yet no matter how many hours you study, you can’t seem to make progress. Physical appearance also plays a huge role in this feeling: you may not feel “beautiful enough,” and as a result, you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin.
  • The Comparison Trap: Comparing yourself to others can cause harm to your wellbeing and self-esteem. Comparison is yet another factor causing deep insecurity for many people. Scrolling through social media is a well-known example that causes many to feel “unlucky,” unattractive, or as if their lives aren’t enough.

There are more factors contributing to low self-esteem, but I decided to focus on these! Now, it’s time to move on to the motivational part. 🙂

Self-Esteem: A Wellness Journey

Each journey is unique and special in its own way. Self-esteem is built over time through trust, self-work, and self-compassion; it’s all part of your wellness journey. If you don’t believe it is possible to get better, talk about it with your therapist, or another e trusted person. It’s okay if things taket time. It’s okay to doubt the process along the way; it’s natural to also be scared and uncertain of how things will turn out.

Remember: take small steps, and each time you feel like something is wrong, simply take a step back and restart. There is nothing wrong with that! I would recommend keeping a notebook with you where you write down all your improvements—even the tiniest ones—and celebrate yourself. Make sure not to forget that! 🙂 It’s really important to take the time to see your progress and where you are in your journey. Give yourself a pat on the back for extra support. :)❤️

There is external help available if it’s too much to handle on your own; never forget that.❤️

“Believing in yourself requires resilience, and you already have it within you—even when you don’t realize it on your own!”

Much Love and Light ❤️✨
