A quick note: if you are grappling with your own mental health, some parts of this article might be difficult to read. However, it also contains motivational insights to help you along the way. The decision to keep reading is entirely yours! ❤️❤️
Introduction…
Have you ever felt too overwhelmed to keep going? Perhaps you were scared of the future outcomes, or simply too tired to keep pushing forward after many attempts to succeed at something? If your answer is yes, you’re not alone. This is not about belittling your pain by saying others are in your position; it’s about raising awareness that we are not the only ones struggling.
Many of us fight to keep going—each for a different reason, but all carrying a weight, sometimes heavier than someone else’s. Some experience this once or twice. For others, like me, it’s an ongoing battle.
Why It Might Be Hard to Keep Going
Identifying the “why” is often the first step to better understand how you can manage your battle. It’s hard to know how to help yourself if you don’t first understand the reasons behind it.
“It’s hard to fix a leak if you haven’t found the hole yet.”
- An Invisible Illness: I am starting with this because it is my own reality. I struggle deeply with depression, and it truly isn’t easy to keep going. Having an invisible illness disrupts your daily life and can cause significant, hidden pain. Acknowledging and accepting that you are facing this is a vital step toward healing—even though, unfortunately, it’s rarely a simple path. ❤️
- Financial Trouble: Another reason could be a lack of financial resources. It is easy to feel unmotivated to keep going when you feel defeated by the struggle of not having enough money to provide for your family. Even so, you have the power to keep fighting and eventually secure the stability you and your loved ones deserve. ❤️
- A Broken Heart: Perhaps you feel unable to move on because of a broken heart, which is incredibly difficult to heal. It’s hard to stop thinking about the person who bailed on you for someone else. The hurt and disappointment take time to mend; however, don’t give up. Someone else is out there for you, just waiting for you to move forward when you’re ready! ❤️
There are countless reasons why someone struggles to keep going; I mentioned just a few!
The Incredible Strength in You
Each day I get out of bed, drink plenty of water, and do my morning skincare. This small but meaningful routine is not obvious for me during this period of time, yet I still do it— sometimes with more effort than usual. This makes me see how much strength I have within me, especially when I write it down and honour my incredible resilience.
I believe the same is true for you. Even though I don’t know your story, the strength you possess gives you the resilience to try, no matter how many times it takes. Do not take your inner strength for granted—it is the very thing pushing you forward, no matter what. You have what it takes to keep going, even with many obstacles along the way. The strength within you holds you and embraces you, especially when you need it most.
The Importance of the Present Moment
It’s important also to remind ourselves to be kind to ourselves, especially when the road gets muddy. Many times I feel like giving up, but mindfulness keeps me rooted and steady. In those moments, I can feel really on edge and extremely sad, which is why I’m learning not to trust my temporary feelings. I wait until the storm is over, and in the meantime, I watch something I enjoy or create something. Mindfulness is the anchor in my healing journey.
The present teaches you to be okay with where you are in this moment, no matter how long the road turns out to be. Even if you find yourself at the beginning of a scary journey, be mindful of your current situation. If it helps, try not to overthink it; just let it happen slowly.
You Are So Courageous…
As we come to the end of this article, there is one more crucial word to leave you with: courage, of course! 🙂 It requires immense courage to step out of your comfort zone and keep fighting, even when it seems impossible and frightening at the same time. Keep track of all your small wins and take time to truly think about your accomplishments— tell yourself how courageous you’ve been to make it happen. Congratulate yourself, no matter how small the win turns out to be.
“You’ve got incredible courage and strength to keep going, even when it’s difficult.”
Much Love and Light ❤️✨
